Moynihan Train Hall

The newly completed Moynihan Train Hall has nearly doubled the existing Penn Station rail complex. This has given city commuters a new spacious and world-class transit hub. The 255,000 square foot train hall provides a direct connection to the Eighth Avenue Subway entrance and access to the 9th Avenue entrance for the first time. New York City continues to depend on the training, safety, and quality of union contractors and the New York City District Council of Carpenters. We were proud to support the 2023 Business and Labor Awards Dinner, which raised more than $1.1 million for Saint Dominic’s Family Services! The 2023 reception was the 42nd anniversary of this esteemed industry event. Since its inception, the dinner has raised over $28 million for Family Services of Saint Dominic’s. Scouting America: Greater New York Council

The Construction and Transportation Good Scout Award Luncheon benefits an American institution — Scouting America: Greater New York Council. Union carpenters and contractors have been proud to support this event for more than 60 years, including on June 17, 2025, when over $365,000 was raised.

New York City District Council of Carpenters Kids Workshops

Carpenters Kids Workshops are sponsored periodically throughout the year by the Carpenters Training Center. Our instructors cater these fun and educational events to elementary and middle school age children, with light building and assembly projects to introduce youth to carpentry skills.
