3ELEVEN, a 60-story residential skyscraper

Exterior work at 3ELEVEN, located at 601 West 29th Street near Hudson Yards, is nearing completion. The 60-story, 695-foot-tall residential skyscraper will yield 935 units with 235 of them designated for affordable housing. The structure will also include 15,000 square feet of retail space as well as multiple resident lounges and many amenities. This residential project is yet another example of the great work done safely and on time by union contractors and the New York City District Council of Carpenters.

CCA Metro brought union carpenters and contractors together with the local community organization Green Thumb at Paradise Community Garden on Earth Day to build over 20 garden beds and a 10×10 platform with an ADA ramp. Fantastic work by the volunteers and everyone involved in bringing this community its new and improved garden.

Google NY Headquarters At 550 Washington Street

Three dozen highly experienced union contractors and the New York City District Council of Carpenters are near completion of their work at Google’s newest 12-story campus at 550 Washington Street. This project involved the restoration of the St. John’s Terminal building along the Hudson River and will serve as the centerpiece of the massive 1.7-million-square-foot “Googleplex”. 52nd Annual Apprentice Contest and Open House

Yesterday the New York City District Council of Carpenters Training Center hosted its 52nd annual 4th Year Graduating Apprentice Open House/Exhibit. The graduating apprentices participated in building projects for the trades of General Carpentry, Interior Systems, Dockbuilder, Timbermen, and Floor Covering. Manufacturers of construction tools and equipment were also present sharing information on the latest and greatest technology coming to the industry. Congratulations to all the winners!
